Let Your Body Speak - the book about your organs
"Maps of Health"
therapy, wellness und for a sound dialogue with the body
according to reflex-balance can be compared with a tree. Its strong
roots ground deeply in the history of human consciousness, it has a
solid trunk and with its crown it reaches out far into adjacent areas.
Some 80,000 years ago we became aware of our own as humans. According
to Eccles man discovered then two terrible companions: illness and
death. Ever since humans try to avoid both. As pimples, warts or other
signs are directly visible on the skin over the time we could more and
more evaluate them as medical hints. Thus we may regard these as a kind
of predecessor of reflexology. Then 5,300 years ago with his tattoos on
the back "Iceman Oetzi" pushed the window open to our perceivable
history of reflexology. In our 21st century we still learn something
new of modern reflexology and we can be sure that new researches will
give us further surprising insights into that fascinating tree.
From these roots a trunk evolved that has survived many cultural storms
over the millennia. For a few decades it seems now as if in a new
climate in medicine, the annual rings were becoming stronger again. We
observe a greater general interest in acupuncture and ayurveda which
ensured that some blinders fell in regard to other cultures and health
is increasingly seen beyond the purely mechanistic medical view.
For this it is necessary to reconsider our bodies' organs in a broader
sense. Basic scientific researches and theories show that signal
transmissions within the body play the greatest role for reflexology
and health. As early as 1928 Ferdinand Huneke suspected an essential
function of the autonomic nervous system when he discovered the neural
therapy (a part of it are injections into the dermatomes). This is
reflected in the current researches of Fritz-Albert Popp who could
prove that all our cells communicate via ultra-weak laser-like light.
Another important aspect showed Alfred Pischinger in the 50ies of the
last century with his description of the basic regulatory system in
connective tissue. He made clear that the connective tissue is the
place where metabolism occurs. If this system is slagged, even the best
impulses will fade away without prospect of success. Therefore, it is
necessary for the effectiveness of any reflexology treatment to clean
up the metabolism.
This trunk carries a mighty tree crown, which harbour the techniques
for diagnosis, findings and treatment as well as the areas where we can
use reflexology, e.g. in massages, in holistic medicine, in well-being
spas or in the spiritual field. Even more interesting is the prospect
of a new approach towards being healthy which contains many fascinating
aspects of life and which includes equally body, mind and spirit.
